Great Spangled Fritillary

I'm adding "Butterflies" to my list of over-photographed garden visitors, along with: robins and bunny rabbits, of course. I can't help it! They charm me with their beautiful colors, patterns, and dance-like fluttering in the garden.

On my lunch break, I spotted this Great Spangled Fritillary outside our window, joining the Monarchs, Skippers, and Swallowtails at the Great Butterfly Bush Café. Since this was the first time I noticed his arrival, I had to take his picture, of course, to mark the event.

Incidentally, if you are ever looking for a great butterfly identification website, I found one HERE.

The wingspan has to be at least 4 inches

When they say that Buddleia attract butterflies, they're not kidding! Here is the Fritillary sharing space with a little Skipper.

And scene!
