If you'll indulge me for a moment, the critters in our yard this morning made me smile with all of their popping out of nowhere and their silly antics; I just had to share them with you. Perhaps it's my imagination, but they seem more actively searching for food lately--to me a sign of autumn on it's way.

...and speaking of cute birdies, how cute is this chickadee taking a drink from my lily pad nursery?

In case you weren't sure about the cuteness--here he is up close!

These goldfinches are so skittish, I could only get his picture from afar (so sorry about the quality). They loooveee the seeds from the woodland sunflowers. He blends right in!

They also, of course, love the seeds from the coneflowers. Again, sorry about the pic quality!

Ummm, Mr Squirrel, I'm not sure if you are aware but these seeds were not intended for you!

He must not have heard me...
