It was "Fall Cleanup" in our neighborhood this weekend, and the sidewalks were filling up with assorted odds and ends as everyone cleaned out their garages, basements, and sheds. Most "junk" didn't stay out there for long as there were dozens of people in cars and trucks zipping in and out of the neighborhoods collecting what was left out; it was a bit unsettling, like sharks patrolling the waters. We put out an old rusted iron bench, and it was gone not 5 minutes later! My daughter and I were returning from the market, and I saw someone throwing away this antique dresser so of course I brought it home. I can't decide if I should just sand it down and re-seal the wood, or if I should just go hog wild and paint it a fun color. Suggestions?

Gorgeous - it's going to be amazing when you're finished, will you note what paint brands you're using? I just painted a hutch and I would really like some antique-looking, glaze-like paint...
Go for a dijon mustard yellow with a grey undertone~!!!
Love your ideas!
Since I just found out from my expert uncle that this is bird's eye maple, I probably won't paint over the wood. However, I think I *will* give it a limed finish. Found a neat tutorial here: http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/la/how-to/how-to-lime-furniture-048046
I'll take after pics! :)
I love the wood grain as is, so am looking forward to the final result. Also some fancy vintage handles?
